SolarX AR orbit data

This folder holds one plain data file, v1/orbits.json, that the SolarX AR app downloads periodically. It is a filtered copy of public orbital elements, refreshed automatically twice a day. It is not an API: there are no accounts, keys or queries, and the app computes all positions on the device.

It also holds v1/app_config.json, a few app settings (which ad formats are on, and how often a full-screen ad may appear). It contains no personal data, and the app sends none when it downloads it.

Sources and credits

• Satellites (CelesTrak GP groups stations and visual): orbital elements from CelesTrak (Dr. T.S. Kelso). The GP data originate from the 18th Space Defense Squadron, U.S. Space Force, via space-track.org.
• Comets and bright asteroids (CometEls.txt, Soft00Bright.txt): orbits from the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center. This product has made use of data and/or services provided by the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center.

Records are republished unchanged (only filtered to what the app uses). For any other purpose, please get the data from the original sources and follow their usage policies.
